Robert James (Jim) Grogg Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025.  Born on December 22, 1946, in New Castle, Indiana, Jim lived a life marked by dedication, humor and adventure.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert James Grogg Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Gorka Grogg; daughter Nicole Grogg, her partner Adam Letica and their son Theodore James Letica, daughter Kelly Grogg, sister-in-law Donna Grogg, brother-in-law James Gorka and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.  Jim was the longest living and eldest member of the Grogg family.

Jim spent most of his life in Michigan, where he built a long and successful career as a designer in the automotive industry with Johnson Controls. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was an active member of the American Legion.

Known for his quick wit and love of laughter, Jim was a natural jokester who brought light to those around him. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and racing and found his greatest joy in the open road, the roar of engines and time spent with family and friends.

In recent years, Jim and Carol made their home in Del Webb Wildlight, Florida, where they enjoyed a new chapter together in a beautiful community.

Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his humor, adventurous spirit and the love he shared with those closest.

A short military service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218, on February 23, 2026, at 2:30pm. The family would like to welcome guests to 150 Del Webb Parkway. Yulee, FL. 32097 for a reception following the service to continue to share their favorite memories of Jim.
