Ann Elizabeth Roesler

December 31, 1953 -September 12, 2026

Posted

Ann was born at the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, Illinois, to Doris and Nelson Reinke on December 31, 1953. She graduated from John Glenn High School in Bay City, MI.

Ann worked at General Motors, beginning as an inspector and later working in technical illustration, where her creativity and artistic eye were an important part of her work before she retired.

Together with her husband, Thad, Ann raised their two children, Cate and John, in the home she designed—a simple yet distinctive home that reflected her thoughtful and remarkable ability to turn an idea into something tangible. Ann found great joy in piecing quilts and cross-stitching. She also loved collecting buttons and learning about their historical significance. She was a longtime member of the Raisin Valley Quilters Guild and the Jacksonian Button Club, where she found many years of enjoyment and connection with others who shared her interests. Ann often shared the fruits of her work with others, creating quilts, cross-stitch pieces, and button displays as gifts, never expecting anything in return. Her generosity was quiet and heartfelt, expressed through the time, care, and thought she put into making something special for someone else.

Ann is survived by her husband Thad Roesler of Adrian, MI; her daughter Cate O’Connor and her husband, Jason of Middleville, MI; her son John Roesler and his wife Karah and their four children Charleigh, Nash, Lane, and Barrett Roesler of Adrian, MI. As the eldest of six children, Ann is survived by her five siblings: her brother, Mark Reinke, and his wife, Elaine, and their children, Marcy Mathews and Mark Reinke; her brother, James Reinke, and his wife, Julie, and their daughter, Amanda Mier; her sister, Ellen Krichbaum, and her son, Jim Krichbaum; her sister, Jean Hardy, and her husband, Joel, and their children, Jenna Zelkowski and Jeffrey Hardy; and her brother, John Reinke, his husband, George, and his children, Corinne, Will, and Lily Reinke. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Shirley Roesler; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Pam Smith and her husband, Tom; Michael Roesler and his wife, Kathy, and their daughter, Loren Roesler; Carrie Hebert and her husband, Bruce; Todd Roesler and his wife, Dana, and their daughter, Madison Roesler; and Mitchell Roesler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Jean Reinke and Nelson Arthur Reinke Jr.; her grandparents, Nelson and Loretta Reinke and Robert and Helen Hill; her father-in-law, Thomas Roesler; her former husband and friend, Victor “Butch” Derosier; and her nephew, Matthew Reinke.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the care teams at Adrian Bay and Hospice of Lenawee for the compassion and care they provided to Ann and her family, with a special thank you to the nurses and nursing aides, especially Ashley Reitz, whose kindness and dedication brought comfort during Ann’s final days.  Arrangements with Purse Funeral Home.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
