Norma Grace Cook

               Norma Grace Cook 87 of Harrison passed peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center-Clare. Norma was born January 28, 1938, Carsonville, Michigan, the daughter of Lois (James) Diem and Clarence Diem. Norma was a graduate of Gladwin High School, Class of 1956. Norma was united in marriage to Mr. Leslie W. “Les” Cook on September 7, 1957, in Gladwin.

               Mrs. Cook has resided in Harrison since 1957, moving from Clare, Michigan. Norma attended Community of Christ Church for many years. She was the past co-owner and operator of Hill Top Marathon gas station of Harrison and was co-owner and bookkeeper for Leslie Cook Inc. for many years and worked at Bell Telephone Company as an operator for one year. She raised four loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was still able to gather time for herself to play tennis, golf, sew, quilt and garden.

               Surviving Norma are her four children; Norma Wright and husband Mark of Harrison, Nancy Nevill of Clare, John Cook and wife Cindy of Harrison, and Joyce Cook of Midland, Michigan, eight grandchildren; Adrian Nevill, Jenna Nevill, Kalyn Nevill, Natalie Letchworth and husband Josh, Wesley Wright and wife Megan, Olivia Wright, Mary Wright and Christopher Cook, seven great-grandchildren; Mitchell Randle, Eli Letchworth, Grace Wright, Lincoln Letchworth, Everly Wright, Ivar Letchworth and Curtis Bay, plus many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-four years, Mr. Leslie W. “Les” Cook, son-in-law, Dick Nevill, two sisters; Saralie Smithson and Esther Lee and four brothers; Charles Diem, Clarence “Bud” Diem, Everett Diem and Robert Diem.

               Life Celebration services honoring Norma will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison with Mr. Jim Reinke and Mrs. Julie Reinke officiating. A time of visitation will take place Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and will resume on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Frost Twp. Memorial gifts in memory of Norma may be considered to: North Woods Nursing Center, Farwell. Envelopes will be available at funeral home.
