Lee Roy Palmer

Lee Roy Palmer, 86, was born at his home in North Star, Michigan. He died on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Carson City, Michigan. Lee, son of Glenn and Doris Palmer was the second of five boys. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Doris, and his brothers Wilbur, and Victor. He was the loving husband of Beth, his wife of 59 years. Lee went to be with the Lord and Savior, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren who were recounting stories, laughing, hugging, crying, singing, and praising God.

He is survived by Beth, his three children, Todd (Lori), Troy (Jen), Treena (Duane), 12 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by the wife of Victor (Marilyn), his brothers Sam (Joyce) and Daniel (Eileen). Lee graduated from Ithaca High School in 1957. He attended Huntington College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961. He graduated from Seminary in 1964.

Lee loved everything about ministry which was the focus of his life. He was the pastor of Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church near Lake Odessa, MI, where he served for 15 years. During his 15th year, he and the family moved to Sierra Leone, West Africa, where he served as an area missionary and mentor to local pastors for two years. After returning to the States, he and his family moved to the Harrison United Brethren Church where he pastored. While at Harrison, he also served the community as a school board member. After 20 years of ministry in Harrison, he retired and moved to the Carson City Christian Camping Center, where he lived on Easy Street.

Although he retired from active ministry, he never ceased serving the Lord. He continued to give of his time to the community of East Washington United Brethren Church, where he taught an adult Sunday school class, led worship music, and occasionally supplied the pulpit. From 2004-2011 he led Pioneer Club and Prime Timers. Lee is remembered first and foremost for his love and service to the Lord.

Celebration of Life services honoring Lee will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from East Washington United Brethren Church, 8051 South Crapo Road, Ashley, Michigan 48806. A time of sharing and visiting will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at East Washington United Brethren Church and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
