Blaine Hoyt Brooks, age 77, of Harrison passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at home under the care of MyMichigan Hospice.

Funeral Services for Blaine will be held at the Community Baptist in Harrison on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Callen officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. A Luncheon will immediately follow the Committal Service back at the church. The family will receive friends at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to MyMichigan Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Blaine was born on November 6, 1948, in Marshall, son of Alston Murray and Marjorie Lucille (Davis) Brooks. Following his father's death, Marjorie remarried Kenneth Davis, who lovingly raised him. Blaine married Linda Lee Downing on June 15, 1968, at the United Brethren Church in Harrison. Blaine worked at the Harrison Lumber Company for 18 years, doing small engine repair. He owned and operated Twin Oaks Home Center for 10 years, before working at Mitsuba, where he retired from in 2013. Blaine was loving and easy going. He loved gardening, working in his yard, bird watching, and growing vegetables and flowers. He and Linda enjoyed traveling to National Parks and visiting their children across the states. He was affectionally known as "The Cookie Man", because he loved baking and sharing his delicious cookies. He was also an amazing pie maker. Blaine will be remembered for his sense of humor and gentle personality.

Blaine is survived by his wife, Linda Brooks; children, Jeffery Blaine of Harrison, Daniel James (Bridget Maloney-Hulslander) of Elizabethtown, CO, and Sheri Kay (Erik Lowe) Obaigbena of Chicago, IL; four siblings, Barbara Brooks Spencer of Albion, Susie Davis Johnson of Harrison, Martha "Betsy" Morgan of Freeport, and Kathleen "Kathy" Davis of Albion; and many nieces and nephews.

Blaine is preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Kenneth Irving Davis; son-in-law, Rotimi Obaigbena; eight siblings, Joan Capman, John Brooks, Paula Strauser, James "Michael" Brooks, Alston "Al" Brooks II, Lawrence "Larry" Brooks, Kay Cook, and Kenneth "Jake" Davis.
