Alice Irene Winter, age 98, of Harrison passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Divine Living Center of Mount Pleasant under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Funeral Service for Alice will be held at the Community Baptist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ron Callen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to a Veteran's Services Organization or the Clare County Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and at the church.
Alice was born on June 2, 1927, in Mount Pleasant, daughter of Charles Ernest and Lera Alta (Hicks) Owen. She married William "Bill" Holley on December 5, 1947, in Sumner, Michigan. Bill preceded Alice in death on May 18, 1984. Alice was united in marriage to Floyd "Stub" Wagner who preceded her in death. Alice remarried, Einar Winter who preceded her in death. She was a gifted painter and enjoyed teaching others. Her artistic gift was not limited to just painting, as she also did needle point and crafting. She enjoyed the tv show "Cops" and watched it regularly. Alice loved her little Shih Tzu dog "Lucky".
Alice is survived by her four daughters, Darlene (Richard) Lynn of Coleman, Barb (Ken) Brandle of Sanford, Lori (Fred) Nehring of Midland, and Becky Glaza of Madison Heights; two sons, Larry (Daina) Holley of Houghton Lake and Scott (Tina) Holley of Harrison; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ellis Owen, George Owen, Lyle Owen , Richard Owen and Ruthann Cashen; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her three late husbands; son, William Holley, daughter, Marion Holley; parents; and siblings, Clarence Owen, James Owen, John Owen, Charles Owen, Donna Hugulet and Linda Owen.
