Upon impact, the 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck veered off the roadway, striking two city light poles, one tree, and shearing an electrical pole. The force of the collision resulted in a power outage that affected the downtown area, including disabling the traffic lights at the intersection.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and the occupants of both vehicles sustained only minor injuries. Emergency services responded promptly, providing necessary medical attention and securing the scene.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Clare County Sheriff Department, Michigan State Police, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Works, Mobile Medical Response, and the Clare Fire Department for their swift and professional assistance with this accident. Their coordinated efforts were instrumental in managing the situation and ensuring public safety.
Repair crews are currently working to restore power and ensure the traffic signal is operational. The intersection remains partially closed as cleanup and repairs continue. We urge the public to avoid the area if possible and to follow any detours or instructions provided by authorities.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
