Marguerite Lynn Niemi, age 82, of Harrison passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland.
In following with Marguerite's wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join us as we come together to celebrate the life of a beloved wife, mom, sister, grandma, and friend, Marguerite Niemi, on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Mott's Up North Event Venue, 452 N. Clare Ave., Harrison, MI 48625, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. This will be an informal celebration, just the way Marguerite would have wanted. In her honor, we ask everyone to wear their favorite Detroit Lions, University of Michigan, of Hornet's gear! Let's celebrate her life, share memories, laugh, maybe shed a few tears, and remember all the loved and joy she brought into our lives. She will forever be loved, deeply missed, and always in our hearts. Come as you are, wear your team colors, and helps us celebrate Marguerite's beautiful life!
Marguerite was born on July 15, 1944, in Wakefield, MI, daughter of William and Marguerite (Marsh) Martin. Marguerite married the love of her life, Donald Niemi, in 1962. Marguerite owned and operated Country Flowers for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and was an avid cleaner. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, and gardening. Marguerite and Don enjoyed spending their summers at Lake Gogebic . Marguerite loved to watch and attend sporting events for her grandchildren and the major leagues.
Marguerite is survived by her husband, Donald Niemi; Molly, her loving dog; two daughters, Debra (Ronald Cuvelier) Niemi and Denise (Douglas) Johnson; grandchildren, Kasey Graves, Kalynn (Nate) Archambault, Trisha Graves, Whitney Johnson, and Morgan (JaMorris) Lewis; great-grandchildren, Brianna Graves-Smith, Titan Archambault, Harper Wiseman, Bentley Archambault, Charlotte Thielen, and Aubrey Wiseman; sister, Beatrice (Gene) Holst; sister-in-law, Jeri (Ron) Bushong; niece, Beth Niemi-Bushong; and nephew, Jeron (Nikki) Bushong.
Marguerite was preceded in death by parents and seven siblings.
