Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: I am running in this year's election to maintain my current seat on Harrison Community School’s Board of Education. I began my time volunteering for the school board in January of 2022. I am a proud Harrison alumna, graduating in 2008. After high school I continued my education at Mid-Michigan Community College and transferred to Central Michigan University where I earned my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. After completing our education, my husband and I knew we wanted to root ourselves here in Harrison. In 2016, I realized our community was lacking access to mental health services and therefore I opened a private practice here in Harrison to meet that need. Now we have two little hornets, so I'll be involved in our school system for a long time to come! I am proud to be from Harrison and I am thankful for the education I received through Harrison Community Schols. So many teachers inspired me along the way. I have no personal agenda for wanting to continue my time volunteering on the school board. I just want to continue the work we've been doing to improve our school system and ensure every student gets equal opportunity to an excellent education in a safe environment. For every decision I make, it is with student well-being in the forefront of my mind. I truly believe that when a student thrives, a community thrives.
