HARRISON – During lunch time Dec. 18 at Larson Elementary School, members of the Harrison VFW Post 1075 gathered to present its annual Teacher of the Year K-5 award to Michael Long. Presenting the award was Aaron Lonsway, senior vice commander, who served as a Marine for two tours in Iraq.
Lonsway explained that being named Teacher of the year K-5 included a $300 check from the VFW, as well as a custom-made acrylic plaque inscribed with “Harrison Post 1075 Teacher of the Year K-5 Michael Long”.
And, after a high-volume round of applause and congratulations from the students in attendance, the ceremony concluded.
