Richard “Dick” Nolan Kogler, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on June 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Born on September 11, 1937, to Louis and Eva (Cooper) Kogler, Dick lived a full and vibrant life. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ethel (Stowe) Kogler; daughter Pamela Gray (Allan Pttman) of Panama City Beach, FL; son Richard Kogler II of Harrison, MI; Toni (Paul) Grange of Commerce Twp, MI; and Amanda Ruble of Bryan, OH. He was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and he leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nancy Parker; brothers Roger “Skip” Kogler and Jimmy Kogler; daughters Robin Kogler and Tara Price; and his beloved grandson, Dustin Faber.

Dick had a zest for life and a love for his family that was unmatched. He found joy in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and camping—and had a deep passion for sports. He played both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, was an avid golfer, and a loyal member of pool leagues throughout the years.

A true man of the community, Dick served as Governor of the Harrison Moose Lodge from 1997 to 1999. He cherished the camaraderie and purpose that came with his involvement there, always eager to lend a hand or share a story.

Dick was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends, telling stories about his adventures—whether from work, off-roading excursions, or weekend getaways. A dedicated fan through and through, he could always be found cheering for the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, the University of Michigan, and NASCAR. “Go Blue”

When not watching sports, Dick spent countless hours in his woodshop, covered in sawdust, building hope chests, cradles, birdhouses, feeders, and yard decorations for loved ones. Many of his handcrafted creations were donated to charity auctions, continuing his tradition of giving and service.

Dick will be remembered for his warm heart, his unmatched storytelling, and his commitment to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created—and the legacy he built—will live on in all who knew him.

Per his request cremation has taken place and no public service will be held.
