Resident Voices Cell Service Concern

We live in Franklin Township, Clare County. We recently received a letter from AT&T stating that in November of this year they are discontinuing all landlines.

As it happens, we live in a dead area for cell service. Neighbors have some cell service, if they stand in the bed of their truck on a clear day!

Conversations with AT&T gave assurances that a booster they were shipping to us would provide cell reception. Meanwhile, two AT&T technicians told us that a booster would not work and to just send it back.

We have contacted our congressman, and FCC with our concerns. We need access to emergency services, and our landline is the only option.

Wondering if others in the county have a similar problem or concern. Perhaps there could be strength in numbers to address this?
