Regina "Gina" Durga

Regina "Gina" Durga passed away June 4, 2026, at Pioneer Golden Estates in Clare. Gina was born December 30, 1950 in Flint, MI to Walter Howard Markee and Mildred "Millie" Markee (Morton).

Gina graduated from Genesee High School in 1969. She married Daniel Durga on January 11,1969 and they had two children Dan Jr. and Amy. She raised both her children in Flint and worked as a bank teller and court reporter typist for many years. After Dan passed away in 2013, she traveled back and forth to Florida and made good friends. Gina loved to quilt and scrapbook and hang out with friends and family. For the past 4 years, she resided at Pioneer Golden Estates in Clare and made many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan, her parents, her brother Rick Markee and his wife Linda, nephew Tim Markee, brother in laws David Kline and Bernie Eddy. She is survived by her children Dan (Kendra) Durga of Harrison, Amy Anderson (Matthew Thick) of Flint, grandchildren Vivian (Nick)Bell, Caleb Durga, Cora Durga, Cate Durga and Cooper Durga, sisters Chris Eddy and Marjie Kline, nieces and nephews Jody (Joe) Murar, Terri (Kevin) Palmer, Jason (Carrie) Kline, Cassie (Jeff) Kline-Oxley, Stevie Kline, and Josh Markee.

There will be a private family service at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Thursday June 25. Per family wishes she has been cremated and will be buried with Dan. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Dementia Society of America.
