Sarah Ostahowski was the guest speaker at the July 14 meeting of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel Clare County Chapter. Ostahowski is the founding attorney of Sarah’s Law Firm whose core value is educating the community about Elder and Family Law. By answering member’s questions, Sarah informed them about protecting their assets with wills and trusts.
Also in attendance was Kapre Filhart, kindergarten teacher at Clare Primary School. Filhart was the 2025 recipient of “Literacy for Littles” DonorsChoose. With our donation, she was able to enhance her classroom writing center with a book cart to hold books and writing supplies.
Forty members enjoyed a tasty lunch of chicken or beef stir fry, rice, salad, cake and beverages, provided by Jack Pine Restaurant of Harrison.
A drawing was held at the end of the meeting with two attendees winning a free lunch for any upcoming meeting.
All public-school retirees are welcome to attend and/or join MARSP. New folks are encouraged to become part of our Clare County membership. Address any questions about the organization to Liz Smith, membership chairperson, at ecsmith06@hotmail.com or 989-368-2346.
