James “Jim” Henry Seney age 68 of Harrison, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Jim was born March 28, 1958, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Barbara Jean (Martin) Seney and Henry James Seney.

Jim was a graduate of Harrison Community Schools Class of 1976. Jim was united in marriage to Ms. Jill Marie Handy on June 30, 1979, in Harrison, Michigan.

In Loving Memory of James Henry Seney

If you knew Jim, you knew you had a friend for life. There are some people who leave behind buildings, businesses, and accomplishments. Jim certainly did that after spending more than 40 years as a respected builder in the Harrison area. But what he really built were relationships. He built trust, lifelong friendships, and a family that will forever carry his love with them.

Jim was the kind of man who never hesitated to help someone in need. If you needed advice, a tool, an extra set of hands, or simply someone to listen, he was there. He took great pride in teaching younger men the construction trade, not just showing them how to build something, but teaching them the importance of working hard, doing things right, and treating people with respect. To us, though, he wasn't just a builder. He was our husband, our dad, our grandpa, our brother, and our best friend.

Nothing made Jim happier than being surrounded by the people he loved. Whether it was watching his grandchildren compete in sports, spending time with family around the table, laughing with friends, or simply enjoying each other's company, those were the moments he treasured most. Family wasn't just important to him—it was everything.

Jim had a way of making people smile. His sense of humor could lighten even the toughest day, and somehow, he always found a reason to laugh or a way to remind everyone that things would be okay. He had a gift for finding the good in people and the good in life, and that's something we will forever admire.

When he wasn't working, Jim knew how to enjoy life. He loved golfing, bowling, cheering on the Detroit Lions, spending evenings at the casino, and taking his beloved classic truck, "Old Blue," to car shows where he proudly shared it with anyone who wanted to hear its story. He found peace in woodworking, creating things with his hands, and enjoyed operating the soundboard for the band Cohesion, quietly making sure everyone else sounded their best. In his younger years, he loved racing snowmobiles, and that adventurous spirit stayed with him throughout his life.

Anyone who knew Jim also knew about his famous Friday afternoon "Safety Meetings" with the crew. They weren't really about safety—they were about friendship, stories, laughter, and taking time to enjoy the people around you. Those afternoons perfectly reflected the kind of man Jim was. Hardworking, loyal, generous, and happiest when he was surrounded by those he cared about.

Jim lived a life filled with purpose, laughter, and love. He taught us that a person's worth isn't measured by what they own, but by how they treat others. His kindness, generosity, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will continue to guide us every day.

The house feels quieter now. The phone won't ring with one of his jokes. "Old Blue" won't be pulling into the driveway quite the same. There is an empty chair where a great man once sat, and there will always be a place in our hearts that only Jim could fill. We already miss him more than words can express.

Thank you, Jim, for loving us so completely, for teaching us what hard work and kindness look like, for every laugh, every lesson, every hug, and every memory. We are who we are because of you. Until we meet again, we will carry your stories, your laughter, and your love with us every day.

You will always be loved.

You will always be missed.

And you will never, ever be forgotten!
