The Harrison volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The Lady Hornets were hosting Pinconning in Jack Pine Conference play, but they came up short against the Lady Spartans in four sets, on final scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-12.
The Hornets came out and played some of their best ball of the night in the first set, as they spent much of it trading points with the Spartans. Harrison eventually ended the frame on a run though, giving them the 1-0 lead.
Harrison started the second set off well too, holding small leads early on. The Spartans got out in front midway through the frame though and eventually tied up the night at 1-1. Pinny kept the momentum from there, mostly controlling the third and fourth sets and they left town with the victory.
Stats were not provided for the Hornets.
Harrison opened up the Division 3 district tournament at Pinconning on Monday, when they went up against Meridian. The winner of that match took on Beaverton in the semi-finals, with the championship set for today (Thursday). Beal City, Pinconning and Farwell are on the other side of the bracket, and the winner of this district plays in a regional semi-final game in Farwell on Tuesday.
