The Harrison and Farwell cross country teams got the chance to run at the Pumpkin Patch Invite on Tuesday, Oct. 7, held at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch in Mt. Pleasant, where they had a chance to enjoy some doughnuts and cider and some other fall related activities.
Roscommon took first place in the boys’ race with 45 points, followed by Beaverton in second with 74 and Beal City had 85 to take third. Harrison was fifth with 114 and Farwell finished in seventh with 143. In the girls’ race, just two teams had enough runners to figure into the team scoring. Roscommon won that side too with 24 points and Elk Rapids was second with 31.
For the Harrison boys, Logan Young led the way, continuing his solid season with a second place run and time of 16:57. Jayden Bobzien was also 22nd with a 19:26, Malachi Coulson was 33rd at 20:29, Kaiden Eichorn ran a 20:41 to come in 34th, Gavin Jansen was 44th after he timed a run of 21:25 and Lucas Dodd was 69th with a run of 29:48.
For the Farwell boys, Connor Cousineau was able to cross 14th with an 18:28, Keagan Terrian was 24th at 19:45, Marcos Allen Quero had a 36th place run with a 20:52, Callen Mogg ran a 21:11 after crossing 41st and Paxton Terrian placed 56th with a run of 23:16.
On the girls’ side, Harrison had Arie Workman and Hope Purvis take part in the meet. Workman finished 12th overall with a time of 23:50 and Purvis was able to come in 20th with her run of 24:45.
As for the Lady Eagles, Evalynne Bell had a top-five finish, coming in fifth with clocked time of 22:24 and Ines Ferrer placed 31st thanks to her time of 36:44.
Farwell was at the final Jack Pine Conference meet at Shepherd on Wednesday and they will run in a regional meet at Deckerville on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Harrison was also the JPC meet at Shepherd and they head for Chippewa Hills on Saturday for their final regular season meet, and on Oct. 25 they head for a regional event up at Benzie Central.
