Harrison cross teams compete at St. Johns

The Harrison cross country teams took part in a meet at St. Johns on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The event was dubbed Apples to Apples and was held at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.

The Harrison boys took eighth place out of 11 scoring teams.

They were led by Logan Young in 17th, on a time of 18:30. Malachi Coulson was 49th with a 21:14, Eli Wing had a 52nd place run at 21:54 and in 57th was Gavin Jansen at 22:31. Jacob Bowermaster crossed the line at 22:36 and was 58th, Sam Bennoit was 60th and he timed out at 22:38 and Cory Westbrook was 78th at 24:33.

The Lady Hornets finished in eighth place as a team and were led by Arie Workman, who had a 32nd place finish and time of 24:25. Hope Purvis was 44th at 26:50, Madylynne Gross was 58th at 28:30, KyLeigh Briggs had a 64th place run thanks to her time of 29:31 and Isabel Heath was 70th at 31:33.

Harrison ran in the second Jack Pine Conference meet of the season at Shepherd on Wednesday and will be in Mt. Pleasant for another event on Saturday, Oct. 12.
