Joel Hardy has been named Grand Marshal of Harrison’s Fourth of July parade by the Harrison Area Chamber of Commerce. Hardy graduated from Harrison High School in 1981. He started his career at Bosink-Hardy Insurance in 1981 and recently (mostly) retired from his business, Hardy-Bonham Insurance Agency. He was also a partner in Mid Michigan Bail Bonds and has served on the Hayes Township Planning Board, Harrison Little League Board, Harrison Chamber of Commerce Board, Harrison Community Schools Board of Education, and Downtown Development Authority Board. Hardy also coached Little League baseball where he was known for having a nickname for every kid on the team.  He has earned himself a spot on the Harrison Wall of Fame at HHS, as well.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jean (Reinke) Hardy, for 42 years and has two children: Jeffrey (Ashley) Hardy and Jenna (Charles) Zelkowski, and five grandchildren.

Hardy is a man of many interests and talents and keeps himself busy with various hobbies, such as travel, camping, golf, fishing, sports, reading, collectibles, drawing, and doing anything the grandkids want “Pop Pop” to do.
