Glenn Ellis, age 60, of Harrison, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
To know Glenn was to love him. He had a heart that never stopped giving and a way of showing up for people exactly when they needed him most. If someone needed help, he was already on his way — tools in hand, smile on his face, probably cracking a joke along the way. He had a gift for making people feel valued and welcome, whether they were family, friends, or someone he’d just met. His kindness wasn’t about grand gestures — it was in the everyday moments: lending a hand, sharing a laugh, or quietly making sure everyone else was taken care of before himself.
Family was everything to Glenn. He married the love of his life, Jane Harrison on July 12, 1985. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren and lived every day for them. They were his greatest joy, his proudest accomplishment, and the center of his world. Whether he was hosting big family gatherings, working on a project at home, or simply spending time together, those were the moments that meant the most to him.
He had a gift for creating — a true craftsman at heart. Glenn could often be found in his wood shop, building projects for those he loved. He also had a deep love for old cars — going to car shows, restoring classics, and sharing that passion with others.
Throughout his life, Glenn took pride in his work and the friendships he made along the way. He spent many years as a DJ, where he brought music and laughter to every event. He worked for Frost Township for 25 years, and more recently, he found joy in construction work in Mackinaw City — a job he truly loved. No matter what he was doing, he gave it his all and left a lasting impression on those he worked beside.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jane Ellis; his children, Anna Ellis, Melinda (Edward) McDiarmid, Timothy Ellis, Christen (Christopher) Marlow, and Bethany (Michael) Yerk; his fourteen grandchildren, Kayley, Matthew, Marcus, Haiden, Adriona, Ava, McKenzie, Trenton, Natalynn, Jayden, Lucas, Colton, Victoria, and Charli; his two brothers, Brian and Thomas Ellis; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever miss his warmth, laughter, and love.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Howard Ellis, Sr.
Funeral Services for Glenn will be held at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 1 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor him by doing what he did best — helping someone in need, cherishing time with your family, or creating something with your hands.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his love and spirit will live on in the lives he touched and the family he so deeply cherished.
