The Farwell girls’ golf team continued their season on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Lady Eagles were at Maple Leaf Golf Course in Pinconning for a Jack Pine Conference match, where they took third place as a team with a round of 199.

They were led by Jayey Stover with a score of 47, good for seventh place, Anna VanBuskirk hit a 49 and took 10th and Ahnarae Bailey carded a 50 or 12th place. Carlee Campbell and Lindsay Esterline both shot scores of 53 to tie for 20th and Chloe Miller came in with a 58 to take 32nd.

“They continue to work hard every week to try to improve,” head coach Hugh Lewis said. “We are really working on trying to manage the course by making smart decisions and shot selections. They continue to ask to do extra time or practices to help them get better. It is nice to have the girls pick up their teammates when one of them does not have the score that they have been shooting.”

Farwell played in league matches on Monday and Tuesday and will conclude the regular season today (Thursday) in Reed City for a non-league nine-hole event. On Monday they compete in a Division 4 regional at Huron Breeze Golf Course, hosted by Tawas Area.
