The Farwell girls’ golf team took part in a home meet at Eagle Glen Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The Lady Eagles had a solid round, getting a nine-hole team score of 208, good for second place.

Lindsay Esterline finished fourth place with a score of 46 and Jacey Stover carded a 51 to come in eighth place.

On Thursday, the team took part in the Shark Classic in St. Louis, held at Hidden Oaks Golf Course Just three girls were at the event for the team. Anna VanBuskirk each shot a 52 to tie for 10th and Esterline came in with a 105 and was 14th place.

“At this time, we are sitting in third place over all in the conference and in first place for our division,” head coach Hugh Lewis said. “The girls are working hard to continue to improve. We have two nine-hole events, and one 18-hole event left for conference play. All of the girls’ scores this year have improved over their scores from last year.

They keep saying that last year I would have been happy with this score, but this year I know I can do better. They need to just continue to have fun playing even when the day may not be their best and they will be fine. This is always easier said than done when playing golf.”
