HARRISON – The Memorial Day Car and Bike Show on Saturday, May 23 featured a wide range of registrants/car enthusiasts showing off their vehicles. Alongside the show there were Harrison Robotics, vendors and a petting zoo.
Despite the rain in the morning, the event went on fairly dry and cloudy. Registrants kept their vehicles clean and wiped them down to make sure they were spotless to display their pride.
Winners of the car and bike show included:
Owners showed cars ranging from various ages such as the 1968 Classic Muscle Chevelle and the 2000 Cadillac Deville. The show also included a 1929 Ford Model A,
Some kept their timely look while others had experienced restoration and cleanup. For example, there were two 1947 Rat Rods and a classic 1968 Plymouth GTX.
Many cars featured eye-catching colors such as bright reds, turquoise and orange. People often stopped by and talked to registrants about their vehicles and to learn share facts about them.
While the show consisted of mostly cars, there were still a few bikes on display, such as a vintage 1948 Indian Chief 348.
At the Harrison Robotics booth, team members gave out merchandise and showcased their middle school robot.
At the petting zoo enclosure. Which fetured goats, sheep, cows and fennec foxes, families gathered around to feed them carrots and petted the animals who approached.
