With just days to go, community members are invited to secure their spot at one of the region’s most anticipated annual events – A Northern Tradition, happening 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare.
Now in its 23rd year, A Northern Tradition offers a one-of-a-kind Up North experience inside one of Michigan’s most iconic outdoor destinations. For one night only, Jay’s is closed to the public and open exclusively to ticket holders, creating a relaxed, after-hours atmosphere filled with food, camaraderie, and discovery.
Guests can stroll the aisles, enjoy tastings from local restaurants, watch live outdoor demonstrations, and connect with Mid Michigan College – all while taking in the sights and sounds of a true Up North evening.
“This event has become a favorite tradition for so many in our community,” said Alexa Carey, executive director of the Mid Foundation. “It’s a unique chance to experience Jay’s in a completely different way while coming together to support students and the future of our region.”
Each $50 ticket includes a $35 gift certificate to Jay’s Sporting Goods, a commemorative outdoor-themed print by featured artist Julie Tyslicky, and entry into a drawing for a $1,000 Jay’s gift certificate. A silent auction features a variety of unique items and experiences to round out the evening.
Over the past two decades, A Northern Tradition has raised more than $2 million to support students through scholarships, campus initiatives, and improvements that enhance student success.
“This event continues to make a real difference for our students,” Carey added. “Every ticket helps create opportunities – and it’s also just a great night out.”
Tickets are available at Mid’s Harrison and Mt. Pleasant Campuses, at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare, or online at midmich.edu/ant.
