JOHN WALLACE BURNETT

   John “Jack” Wallace Burnett, age 74 of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, October 07, 2006 at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center in Clare. He was born, the son of John Wallace Burnett, Sr. and Stella Salsbury on June 15, 1932 in Greenwood Township, Michigan. On July 14, 1951, he married Iva Louise Hall in Marion, Michigan. John retired from the Clare County Road Commission with thirty-six years of service where he retired as Superintendent. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, being a member at both the Houghton Lake B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1982 where he was the current Exalted Ruler and at the Harrison Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235. He also enjoyed farming, being a past-member of the Clare County Sheriff’s Posse, working with his horses, and he loved to fish and deer hunt. He had lived in the Harrison area his entire life.
   He is survived by his wife, Iva L. Burnett, of Harrison; his son, Greg (Kris) Burnett of Riley, Kansas; his four daughters: Brenda (Howard) Wilson of Harrison, Jan (Rick) Garver of Clare, Michigan, Jackie (Lee) Stafford of Forest Grove, Oregon, and Pat (Dick) Miceli of North Branch, Michigan; his sister, Della Mae Nolph of Gladwin, Michigan; his twelve grandchildren: Stephanie, Sarah, Shawn and John, Jackie, Terra, Michael, Kimberly, Samantha, Jeremy, Josh, and Jamie; and his nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lillian Poulton.
   Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Friends may visit with John’s family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to express their sympathies with a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Houghton Lake Elks. KRAIG ROBERT KING

   Kraig Robert King, 37 of Harrison, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Grayling Mercy Hospital of Grayling, Michigan. Mr. King was born June 18, 1969 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Owen Delane and Darlene Ann (Arnold) King. Kraig had resided in Harrison since 1993, coming from Holt, Michigan.
   Kraig was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235 of Harrison. Kraig enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, cooking on the grill and playing men’s softball.
   Surviving are his loving parents; Owen D. and Darlene A. King of Harrison, one daughter; Courtney King of Harrison, his grandfather; George Arnold of Pittsford, Michigan, his girlfriend; Tammy Fitzgerald also of Harrison, two brothers; Kent King and wife Margie of Jonesville, Michigan and Kurt King of Tampa, Florida, one sister; Kami Cruz of Idaho, five nephews; Rocky Cruz, Dustin Cruz, Leo Cruz, Jeremie Cruz and Georgie King, one niece; Vanessa King, one great niece; Belicia Cruz and one great nephew; Maguel Cruz.
   Memorial services were held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from Harrison Moose Lodge #2235 of Harrison. ROSALIND L. BURKHARD

   Rosalind “Roz” Louise Burkhard, 49 of Harrison, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006 in Dearborn, Michigan. Rosalind was born May 17, 1957 in Trenton, Michigan, the daughter of Leo W. and Gladys (Standen) Viger.
   Rosalind had resided in Harrison since July 1, 1983, coming from Taylor, Michigan. Rosalind’s greatest joy was being a mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, Rosalind enjoyed working outside and horseback riding.
   Surviving are her loving children; one daughter; Jennifer Presley and husband Terry of Harrison, one son; David M. Burkhard of Columbus, Ohio, her father; Leo W. Viger and wife Helen of Holiday, Florida, two brothers; Raymond Viger of Colorado and Robert Viger and wife Donna of Florida, two grandchildren; David Micheal Burkhard and Samantha Burkhard. Ms. Burkhard was preceded in death by her mother; Gladys Viger, one son; Joseph Nathan Burkhard on November 25, 2003 and two brothers; Richard and Roger Viger.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Jerry Britton officiating. Interment was in Summerfield Twp. Cemetery, Harrison.

ROSA M. SEIDEL

   Rosa M. Seidel, 82 of Harrison, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006 at her home. Rosa was born May 29, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Karl and Eva (Huntchue) Ziegler. Rosa was united in marriage to Rolland O. Seidel on July 23, 1942 in Saginaw. Mr. Seidel preceded Rosa in death on March 31, 1995. Mrs. Seidel had resided in Harrison since 1981, coming from Saginaw.
   Rosa was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Harrison, where she was involved with Thursday Morning Bible Study, Altar Guild and Women of Faith. During World War II, Rosa worked at General Motors Plant 2 of Saginaw as a “Rosie the Rivetar”. She also worked many years at Saginaw General Hospital as a Nurses Aide. Rosa loved animals, especially her cats; she also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
   Surviving Rosa are her loving children; one daughter; Daris D. Sova of Saginaw, three sons; Denny Seidel and wife Sally, Kit Seidel and Karl Seidel and wife Melissa all of Saginaw, one brother; Helmot Zeigler of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, two sisters; Aleada Bengston of Big River, Saskatchewan, Canada and Bertha Meyer of Unionville, Michigan, one sister in law; Jane Turner of Saginaw, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a very dear friend; Lois Posey of Harrison, also, a very dear friend and care giver; Linda Fairchild of Harrison.
   Rosa also was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Joe and Arnold Seidel, one brother; Fred Ziegler and one grandson; Michael Sova, who passed away on September 27,1990.
   Funeral services were held on Monday, October 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Faith Lutheran Church of Harrison, with Pastor Paul Fetzer officiating.
   Visitation took place on Sunday, October 8, 2006 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.
   Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Seidel may be considered to: Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
