EDWIN L. PRENTICE
Edwin L. Prentice,
age 59, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2006 after a
two-year battle with cancer. He was born on March 28, 1947 in Flint,
Michigan the son of Arthur and Alice (Oles) Prentice. He was united in
marriage to Rosemary Marie Murray on April 27, 1972 in Oxford, Michigan.
Edwin served in the United States Army from 1968 until 1970 where
he received several medals such as: Purple Heart, Good Conduct, National
Defense Service, Vietnam Service, and the Vietnam Campaign. He was a
member of the Harrison V.F.W. Post 1075 and the Harrison Moose Lodge. He
was a caring and generous man. He would offer a helping-hand to anyone
in need. Mr. Prentice had several friends in the Harrison area and
enjoyed having coffee at the local restaurants with all of them.
Edwin is survived by his loving daughter; Angela and husband
Jeffery LaPorte of Harrison, one sister; Hazel and husband Larry Clark
of Harrison, four grandchildren: Zack, Elizabeth, Jessica and
Christopher; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Prentice was preceded
in death by his parents, his wife; Rosemary on August 7, 1993 and
sister; Marie Hardacre. Rest in Peace, you will be sadly missed by all.

Services were held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Full military
honors were conducted by the Harrison V.F.W. Post 1075. Burial took
place on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 in the Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in
Grand Blanc, Michigan. Those wishing to express their sympathy with a

MAY DUNHAM
Mrs. May Dunham,
age 90, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Sparrow
Health System of Lansing, MI. May was born May 2, 1916 in Goshen, IN,
the daughter of Charley and Emma (Lienbach) Defrees. Mrs. Dunham was
united in marriage to Edmond Dunham on July 4, 1936 in Harrison. Edmond
preceded May in death in 1982.
Mrs. Dunham was a long-time member of The Community of Christ
Church in Harrison. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needle work, working
out in the garden with her flowers and working her puzzles. May also
enjoyed spending time with her family and reminiscing with them about
her childhood days. One of her biggest enjoyments was the yearly family
reunion.
Surviving Mrs. Dunham are her three loving children: Elgin (Vivian
Cooper) Dunham and George (Jeannie) Dunham both of Harrison and Virginia
(Everett) Wickwire of Laingsburg, two sisters: Bertha Bailey of Coleman
and Melinda Feast of Poole, KY, seven grandchildren: Debbie Bond, Angela
Runnells, Randy Wickwire, Michelle Neimeyer, Trent Wickwire, Dawn Slater
and Trevis Dunham, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren. May was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers:
John and George Defrees and two sisters: Clara Haines and Amanda Long.
Funeral Services were held Monday, June 12, 2006 from Stocking
Funeral Home, Harrison with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment is

BETHANY A. ROUNTREE
Bethany A. Rountree
of Gladwin died June 9, 2006 in Karmanas Cancer Hospital in Detroit
following a year long battle with cancer.
She was born November 24,1942 in Mt Pleasant, Michigan to the late
Whilden and Leanore Hughes of Harrison, Michigan.
In July of 1963 she married John Rountree of Gladwin. They raised
two children, Michael Rountree of Harrison Township (Macomb County) and
Dr. Patrick Rountree of Munich, Germany.
Surviving in addition to her husband and two sons are her brothers,
Dr. Robert Hughes of Corvallis, Oregon, and James Hughes of Midland.
Additional immediate surviving family members include grandson, Michael
A. Rountree (Fenton); daughter-in-law, Flavia Rountree (Harrison
Township), sister-in-laws, Pam Hughes (Midland) and Mary Hughes
(Corvallis); nieces, Jennifer and Lori Hughes (Midland) and Elizabeth
Hughes (Corvallis), and nephew Gregory Hughes (Frisco, Colorado).
Beth was recently employed as Arthur Township Treasurer. She
enjoyed golfing, crafts, pets, and time with her many friends,
neighbors, and family members near and far.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Good Shepherd
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beaverton with Reverend Paul Metzger
officiating.
Contributions may be made to Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church of
Gladwin.

NELLY JEAN SCHNEIDER
Ms. Nelly Schneider,
57, of Harrison passed away Friday, June 9, 2006 at her home. Nelly was
born on September 26, 1948 in Flint, MI the daughter of Clarence and
Thelma (Thompson) Reinhardt. Ms. Schneider was a member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles Aerie 3541 Ladies Auxiliary, Harrison. She enjoyed
gardening, the company of others and serving mankind. Nelly especially
enjoyed socializing with family and friends.
Surviving Ms. Schneider is her two loving daughters: Toni Schneider
and Patricia Judd both of Harrison, six grandchildren: Brittanie and
Joshua Weisheim, Erica Finley, Mercedes, Alexis and Morgan West and many
special friends.
Graveside services for Ms. Schneider will be Wednesday, June 14,
2006 at 1:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Frost Township with Reverend
Carol Floyer officiating. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday,
June 14, 2006 from 12:00pm until time of service. Those wishing to make

PAUL J. HUSTED
Paul John Husted,
59, of Harrison, formerly of Holly, passed away suddenly on Tuesday,
June 13, 2006. He was born December 11, 1946 to Harold L. and Sarah
Elizabeth (Potter) Husted in Holly, Michigan. Paul was a member of the
Twenty Lake Club and The Mountain Men Muzzle Loaders Club. He also
enjoyed being outdoors.
Surviving Mr. Husted is two sons: Tony Husted of Bad Axe and Dan
Husted of Holly, sister: Eleanor (Harold) Bastian of Germany, and three
grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers:
Leonard and Leo Husted and one grandchild.
At Paul’s request cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home.
