WILLIAM DUANE DAVIS

   William “Bill” Duane Davis, age 60, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. He was born the son of Archie Russell and Mildred Irene (Christie) Davis on November 9, 1945 in Harrison, Michigan. He worked as a self-employed laborer and also served as sexton for the Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrison for many years. In Bill’s spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and doing yard work. His greatest pleasures were spent by spending time with his family. This included teasing, sharing memories, and enjoying each other’s company while eating good food and reflecting on past memories.
   He is survived by his mother, Mildred Davis of Harrison, his brother, Melvin (Billie) Davis of Harrison; his five sisters: Irene Smith and Mabel (Glenn) Bucholz of Harrison, Juanita (Bill) Johnson of Marion, Dolly (Wes) Gross of Coleman, and Lela (Rex) Thompson also of Harrison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his father and brother, Buck Davis.
   Funeral services were held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Burial took place in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrison. TIMOTHY Q. MCMURRAY

   Timothy “Tim” Q. McMurray, age 50, of Walled Lake, Michigan and formerly of Milford, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Harrison. He was born the son of William and Marguerite J. (Murray) McMurray on February 11, 1956 in Marysville, Ohio. He had worked in the retail carpet industry as an installer. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Nascar and building. He had lived in the Walled Lake area since 2003 where he had moved from Milford, Michigan.
   He is survived by his son, Travis Q. McMurray of Newport News, Virginia; his five brothers: Bill McMurray of Orlando, Florida, John McMurray of Tazewell, Tennessee, Pat McMurray of Holly, Michigan, Mike (Gina) McMurray of Redford, Michigan, and Gene (Cindy) McMurray of Harrison; his three sisters, Margaret (Ray) Jordan of Harrison, Mary (Doyle) Hurley of Tazewell, Tennessee, and Bernice (James) Zanger of Harrison. He is also survived by twenty-four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
   Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison with Father Noel Rudy officiating. Burial took place in the St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery in Harrison. Those planning to send a memorial contribution are asked to consider the McMurray family. FLORENCE M. MOTT

   Florence M. Mott, 91 of Harrison passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Mott was born in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Robert and Etta (Reed) McKenzie. In 1948 Florence was united in marriage to Earl Mott in Lansing, MI. He preceded Florence in death in 1953.
   Mrs. Mott was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Temple. Florence enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
   Florence is survived by her two loving children, John and wife Sharon Ahrens of Lansing and Ruth Richards of Harrison, eight grandchildren; Rebecca Hoard, Thomas Smith, Perry and Grant Fargo, Troy Richards, John Jr. and David Ahrens and Suzanne Lewis, fifteen great grandchildren; Jessi and Kassi Ahrens, Christopher Wonch, Amanda Hoard, Dennis, Jennifer and Amy Smith, Ashley, Tony and Sean Richards, Jacob Fargo, Charlene, Melanie, Aidan and Ellie Lewis, one-great-great grandchild; Aniyah Malone. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; one sister, three grandchildren; Christopher and Jennifer A. Smith and Kenneth Ahrens.
   Services for Mrs. Mott were Saturday, June 3, 2006 from Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment took place in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing, Michigan. In Mrs. Mott’s honor, the following grandchildren served as pallbearers: Grant Fargo, Troy Richards, Thomas Smith, Steven Hoard, John Ahrens, Jr., and David Ahrens. BILLY WAYNE ELLIOTT

   Billy Wayne Elliott, age 39, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2006 at his home in Harrison. He was born the son of Billy Wayne and Barbara Jean (VanAmeyde) Elliott on May 17, 1967 in Wayne County, Michigan. He worked as a self-employed foster care provider. On March 21, 1987, he married the former Judy L. Lemons in Heflin, Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoyed: snowmobiling, motorcycling, hunting, and spending time with his family. Billy had lived in the Harrison area since 1975 where he had moved from Taylor, Michigan.
   He is survived by his wife Judy of Harrison; his son, Billy W. Elliott IV of Harrison; his three daughters: Krystle, Marissa, and Lacy Elliott all of Harrison; his two brothers, Raymon (Irene) Elliott of Harrison and George Elliott of Flint, Michigan; his sister, Revea Elliott of Skidway Lake, Michigan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
   Funeral services took place on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison with Pastor Tim Tanner officiating and members from the Harrison American Legion Post #404 conducted military honors. In keeping with Billy’s wishes, cremation took place after the funeral service. Those who wish to express their sympathy by making a memorial contribution in his honor are asked to consider the Elliott family.
