ANGIE MARTHA COX
Angie Martha Cox, 65, of Harrison
passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008 at her home. Angie was born February
22, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Joe D. and Maria (Golora)
Pileggi. Angie was united in marriage to Mr. John E. Cox. Mrs. Cox had
resided in Harrison since 1980, coming from Carlton, Michigan.
Mrs. Cox enjoyed reading her bible and loved caring for her family,
especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband, John E. Cox of Harrison, one son,
Joe Cox and wife Kim of Harrison, one daughter, Patty Root and husband
Ota Root also of Harrison, three grandchildren: Judy Cox, Deatta Root
and Jessica Cox and one great-grandson, Mason Chancy Root-Pyle. Mrs. Cox
was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008
at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Tim Fall
officiating. Visitation will take place Monday, June 30, 2008 from 10:30
a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery,

Wayne Prescott, of Harrison died July 1, 2008 at McLaren Hospital.
Wayne was born in Clare County, MI on November 30, 1940 the son of
Charles and Laura Prescott. He resided in Harrison, MI formerly of
Flint, MI. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, July 12th, 2008
at the Harrison Eagles #3541, 5002 E. Townline Lake Rd., Harrison, MI
48625. Luncheon following.
Wayne is survived by children Tammy Parker, Wayne Prescott, Michael
(Jeannine) Prescott, Patricia (John) Weir, Randy (Brenda) Prescott, Lori
(Richard) Jacobs, Wesley (Tracy) Prescott, Tammy (Chris) Wolverton,
Chuck (Amber) Prescott, Jason (Sonisee) Reed and Jeff (Dianna) Reed;
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Barb, Donna,
Carolyn; brothers David and Clyde. A host of other relatives and friends
including special friends Mary Cole, Melvin and Connie Brewer, Yona Reed
and Bandit his beloved pet. Wayne was preceded in death by his father
and mother, Charles and Laura, sister Laura and brothers Mike, Bob,
Richard and Willard.

VIRGIL EDWIN BILLOW
Virgil Edwin Billow, 91, of Harrison,
passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at his home. Mr. Billow was born
February 18, 1917 in Hickville, Ohio, the son of George F. and Viola
(Mavis) Billow. Virgil was united in marriage to the former Berniece
Mason on June 20, 1992 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Billow had resided in Harrison since 1979, coming from Flint,
Michigan. Virgil was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison. Virgil
was an avid woodworker and enjoyed bowling.
Surviving are his loving wife, Berniece Billow of Harrison, his
loving daughter, Roberta Short and husband Bob of Phoenix, Arizona, one
step-daughter, Marlene Curtis and husband Lawrence of Battle Creek,
Michigan, one brother, Denver Billow and wife Julie Ann of Bristol,
Indiana, one sister, Elnora Figgy of Wauseon, Ohio, three grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four step
great-grandchildren, three step great-great grandchildren and numerous
nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Billow was preceded in death by his
parents, two brothers: Paul and Russel Billow and one sister, Anna.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service for Mr. Billow was held
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 11:00a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home,
Harrison, with Pastor Paul Fetzer officiating. Memorial contributions in

KATHLYN J. TORSTENSON

Kathlyn "Katie" J.
Torstenson, age 21, of Clare, formerly of Owosso, passed away
Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Funeral Services were held at 12 noon, Monday, June 30, 2008 at
Nelson-House Funeral Home, with Pastor Burton Kincaid officiating.
Burial followed at St. Paul Cemetery. The family received friends at the
funeral home on Monday from 11 am until the time of the service at noon.
Katie was born on July 9, 1986 in Lansing, the daughter of Martin
and Sharon (Cummings) Horak. She graduated from Harrison High School.
On February 14, 2008, she married Derek Torstenson in Harrison. She
loved her children, and enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, board
games, swimming, and being with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Derek; sons, Taylor, Glenn, David,
Ryan, and Dakota; her father, Marty (Cindi) Horak; her mother, Sharon
Horak; sisters, Kelli (Aaron) Allen; step-sister, Kristina (Mike)
Overley; grandparents, Jim (Katie) Horak, and Herb (Beverly) Cummings;
mother-in-law, Kathy Torstenson; father-in-law, Glenn (Julie) Torstenson;
sister-in-law, Tiffiney Torstenson; brother-in-law, Daniel Torstenson;
two nephews; one niece; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was
predeceased by her great-grandparents.

SHIRLEY J. WALTER

Shirley J. Walter,
73, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at her home. She
was born April 23, 1935 in Battle Creek the daughter of Herbert and Mary
(Bussell) Brace. She married Bernard Walter on December 17, 1964 in
Battle Creek and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2004. Shirley
worked at Brace Nursing Home in Battle Creek. She enjoyed playing Bingo
and playing cards. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Shirley was
a foster grandmother in Farwell. She loved spending time with her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Tami) Campbell of
Watervliet, MI, Ronald (Kay) Campbell of Battle Creek, Mary Mancini of
Port Richey, FL, Peggy Busch of Battle Creek, Debra Sisler of Battle
Creek; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth
Brace.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on
Wednesday from 5 - 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00
A.M. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Robert L. Zuhl
officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes
