SYLVIA ALBRIGHT
Sylvia Albright,
age 84, of Alma and formerly of Harrison, Michigan, passed away on
Tuesday, July 22,2008 at the Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan. She was
born the daughter of Janko and Sophia (Marvos) Popovich on March 12,
1924 in Mingo Junction, Ohio. On April 21, 1945, she was united in
marriage to Uriel Herbert "Herb" Albright, Jr. in Youngstown, Ohio. Mrs.
Albright worked in retail sales as a sales associate and was also a
member of the St. John's Episcopal Church of Alma, Michigan and the
Harrison Lioness Women's Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing
Bridge, making crafts, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Albright is survived by her daughter, Pam (Ron) Anderson of
Alma, Michigan; her brothers, John (Dorothy) Popovich and Pete
(Katherine) Popovich, all of Youngstown, Ohio; six grandchildren: Nicole
(Matthew) Swartley, Adam (Davida) Mentley, Heather (Matthew) Vertin,
David Adler, Kari (Brian) Harrant, and Chad Anderson; six
great-grandchildren, Kyle and Jake Swartley, Madeline, Mitchell and Mia
Harrant, and Shay Mentley; her son-in-law, Jeff Adler of Farmingdale,
New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herb,
who passed away on April 24, 2000, and her daughter, Bonnie Adler, who
passed away on December 30, 2006.
Funeral services took place on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.
at the Doig Chapel at the Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan with Pastor
George Ayoub officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery in
Harrison, Michigan. Memorial contributions in Sylvia's memory may be

JANE K. VENABLE
Jane Venable
passed away on Sunday, July 13th, 2008 at home surrounded by her family.
Jane was born in Hazel Park on August 14, 1940.
She is survived by her 3 children Joe, Jan & Dale (Ecklin) and Jess
Venable, all of Harrison. Jane has five grandchildren: Cale & Macy
Ecklin, Tyler, Trent, and Zach Venable, all of Harrison.

VIRGINIA E. MAUER
Virginia E. Maurer,
age 88, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Mid
Michigan Regional Medical Center in Clare, Michigan. She was born the
daughter of Peter and Neva (Harris) Bender on July 01, 1920 in Detroit,
Michigan. On July 01, 1939, she was united in marriage to Russell R.
Maurer in Homer, Michigan. Mrs. Maurer was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Harrison and enjoyed spending time with her family and working
around her home. She had lived in the Harrison area since 1980 where she
had moved from Chelsea, Michigan.
She is survived by her husband, Russell, of Harrison; her two sons,
Russell L. (Rosemary) Maurer of Brooklyn, Michigan and Daniel D.
(Monica) Maurer of Grass Lake, Michigan; her seven grandchildren:
Jennifer Maurer, Susannah (Eric) Newsome, Russell Maurer, Daniel
(Brooke) Maurer, Sara Maurer, Kelly (Mike) Buckley, and Lisa (Jeff)
Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Dan Curry of
Jackson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons,
Paul and Phillip Maurer, a daughter, Sharon Curry, a grandson, Billy
Maurer, and her two brothers, Theron Todd and Richard Bender. Funeral
services took place on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church in Harrison with Pastor Tim Tanner officiating. Burial is
in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield, Michigan. Memorial contributions
may be considered to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were
entrusted with the Stocking Funeral Home of Harrison.

CONNIE KAY KIRCHEN
Connie Kay Kirchen,
age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Tendercare Nursing
Home in Clare, Michigan. She was born on January 15, 1943 in Lansing,
Michigan, the daughter of Donald and Evangeline (Sandeval) Parks.
Connie had resided in Harrison since 1966, coming from Grand Ledge,
Michigan. She enjoyed shopping, reading novels and magazines, caring for
her grandchildren and watching The Food Network on the television.
Surviving is her son, Keith Kirchen of Harrison, daughter, Rhonda
Butler and husband Mark of Waterford, Michigan, sister, Donna Jimmenez
of Jackson, Michigan, three grandchildren, Theresa (Cory) Pittaway,
Michael Butler and Catherine Kirchen. Connie was preceded in death by
her parents and one sister, Jenny Bryant.
In keeping with Connie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial
will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. To share an online
