WILLARD N. “BILL” MASON

   Willard N. Mason, 85 of Harrison, formerly of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Sparrow Hospice House of Lansing. Mr. Mason was born October 25, 1920 in Walker Township, Michigan, the son of Thomas and Chestina (Akels) Mason. Bill was united in marriage to Leta Sheldon on June 23, 1973 in Harrison. Mr. Mason had resided in Harrison since 1976, coming from Lansing. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
   Bill retired from General Motors after thirty three years of service. He was a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235 of Harrison, American Legion Post 404 of Harrison, Houghton Lake Elks Lodge # 1982 he was known as “Mayor Bill” of Long Lake, and had water skied at the age of 75. Bill enjoyed wood working, carpentry, traveling, snowmobiling, golfing and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed his assistance.
   Mr. Mason is survived by his loving wife; Leta Mason of Harrison, two sons; Bill Mason and wife Sharon of Vermontville, Michigan and Grant Hilts and wife Susie of Lansing, one sister; Alice Shellito of Dewitt, Michigan, two grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
   Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Frost Twp, Harrison. LORNE TIMOTHY CLINE

   Lorne Timothy Cline, age 79, of Harrison and formerly of Hadley, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 02, 2006 at his home. He was born the son of Clifford and Beatrice (O’Halloran) Cline on January 20, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Cline was united in marriage to the former Mary LeBoeuf on February 18, 1950 in Ontario, Canada.
   He had served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a life member of the Harrison V.F.W. Post #1075. He was also a long-time member of the St. Athanasius Catholic Church of Harrison. He was an avid volunteer for the Clare County Habitat for Humanity for ten years and was instrumental in overseeing and helping build the organization’s first three homes. Lorne retired from the Detroit News after forty-one years of loyal service as a Pressman. He also enjoyed working on vehicles and spending time with family and friends. He had lived in the Harrison area since 1989 where he had moved from Hadley, Michigan.
   Lorne is survived by his loving wife; Mary Cline of Harrison, six sons: John (Judy) Cline of Lakeview, Michigan, Tim Cline of Taylor, Michigan, Mike (Sarah) Cline of Harrison, Ken (Jayla) of Lapeer, Michigan, Dan (Merri) of Columbiaville, Michigan, and Chris Cline also of Harrison; his six daughters: Anne (Ross) Smith of Flatrock, Michigan, Sue (Bob) Hayman of Kentucky, Joan (Ron) Wysocki of Novi, Michigan, Beth Musser of Colorado, Pat (Steve) Howell of Westland, Michigan, and Mary (Ted) Rigterink of West Olive, Michigan. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
   Funeral services took place on Friday, July 07, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison with Father Jerard LeBoeuf officiating. Full-military-honors were under the direction of the Harrison V.F.W. Post #1075. Those wishing to express their condolences with a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Athanasius Catholic Church or the Bay City Heartland Hospice. In keeping with Lorne’s wishes, cremation took place following the funeral service. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date in the St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery in Harrison. JOYCE ELAINE SMITH

   Mrs. Joyce Smith, 70, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at Covenant Health Care, Saginaw. Joyce was born March 30, 1936 in Lansing, the daughter of Carl and Beatrice (King) David.
   Mrs. Smith was a member of the Harrison Eagles Club where she did a lot of volunteering and held several officers positions. She was also a member of American Legion Post #404 Women’s Auxiliary and The Deputy Treasurer for Hamilton Township for many years. Joyce volunteered for County Family Independence Agency. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
   Surviving Joyce is two sons: Gerald Tuttle of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard (Eliza) Tuttle of Riverview, FL, two daughters: Mary (Vern) Wilson and Sandra (Dennis) Smith both of Harrison, one brother: Paul David, one sister: Kay (David) Williams both of Lansing, nine grandchildren: Jesse, Nicholas and Matthew Tuttle, Christena and Karman Wilson, Lance, Sabrina, Eric and Shawn Smith. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers: Robert and Herb David.
   At Joyce’s request cremation has taken place. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrison Eagles Club, 5002 E. Townline Lake Rd., Harrison. TEDDY WARREN ROBBINS

   Teddy W. Robbins, 71, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Clare. Ted was born September 14, 1934 in Lansing, MI, the son of Walter and Helen (Wright) Robbins. Ted was united in marriage to the former Martha Sledge on September 20, 1958 in Lansing, MI.
   Mr. Robbins served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Harrison Sportsman Club. Ted enjoyed hunting, farming and was an avid gun collector.
   Surviving Mr. Robbins is his loving wife Martha, two sons: Dale Robbins of Lansing and Marvin (Donna) Robbins of Harrison, two daughters: Mary Robbins of Lansing and Sharon Robbins of GA, two brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
   Funeral services for Mr. Robbins will be Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 2:00pm from Stocking Funeral Home, with Pastor Green officiating.
