MILDRED OUTINEN Mildred (McIver) Outinen, age 83, passed away on February 13, 2006 at her home in Harrison, Michigan. Mildred was born the daughter of Daniel and Sarah (McGregor) McIver on October 1, 1922 in L’Anse, Michigan. Mildred married Edward Outinen on October 5, 1946 in Hancock, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Outinen resided in the Detroit area, where she worked in a local physicians office and as a crew leader for Anchor Coupling. Mildred was active in the Lutheran Church. Mildred continued to work within her home after the birth of her children, until 1968 when they moved to Harrison. Mildred and Ed purchased the Sunnyside Restaurant which they operated for 25 years. She was a member of the Harrison Lioness Club for many years, as well as, the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Donald and Sarah McIver, a brother Donald McIver, a sister Minerva Haugan, a nephew Daniel Chopp and grandson Jason Outinen. She is survived by two sons; Terry and wife Cindy Outinen of Harrison and Gary and wife Tina of Chassel, two granddaughters; Cassie Outinen of Ishpeming and Jessica Outinen of Harrison, one grandson; Matthew Outinen of Holt, and one great granddaughter; Leila Outinen of Harrison. Visitation was held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at Stocking Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Schaedig officiating. Nikolas V. Harbor Nikolas Vincent Harbor, age 58 of Harrison, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare. He was born the son of Nikolas Harbor and Antonina Losik on July 16, 1947 in West Germany. Nikolas served in the United States Army with an honorable discharge. He retired from General Motors after fifteen years. Nikolas enjoyed spending time with his daughter Tara, fishing, boating, skiing, tubing and just being outdoors. Nikolas is survived by his daughter; Tara Wilder of Harrison, Michigan, his brother; Viktor M. Harbachow of Arizona, and his granddaughter; Victoria Wilder. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Community of Christ Church, 2246 E. Cranberry Lake Rd., Harrison, MI (989)539_3411, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating.
