MAXINE J. CRAWFORD

   Maxine J. Crawford, age 71 of West Branch, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with ALS. She had lived in West Branch since July 2005, formerly of Goodrich and Harrison. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison and she enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. Maxine is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Wally Crawford of West Branch, children, Ron (Marie) Crawford of Goodrich, Debbie Crawford of Gaines, Dennis Crawford of Clio, Tom (Michele) Crawford of Davison, Randy (Gwen) Crawford of Allen Park and Joyce (Mike) Nixon of Linden, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and her brothers, Bill (Mary Ann) Beck and Rick (Roberta) Beck both of West Branch and Don (Linda) Beck of Bruces Crossing. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch was on Thursday, February 16, 2006 from 1-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Fr. Robert Bissot officated, burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.

JAMES DAVID STEPHEN WATT

James D. S. Watt 83 of Harrison passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006 at his home. Mr. Watt was born November 5, 1922 in Port Dover, Canada, the son of John Miline and Marjorie Mae (Burch) Watt. James served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II in the 446th Bombardier Group as a Waist Gunner. James was united in marriage to Jacqueline Emery on January 10, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Watt preceded James in death on December 27, 1995. Mr. Watt retired in 1974 after twenty five years of service to the City of Detroit as a police officer. James worked for many years with the Veterans Administration Support Groups to assist in the history of World War II where he was held as a prisoner of war. Surviving are his two sons; David E. Watt and wife Deena of Charleston, South Carolina, Stephen E. Watt and fiancée, Tammy Peterson of Roanoak, Virginia, two daughters; Susan E. Smith and husband Scott of Harrison, Judith E. Evans and husband Scott also of Harrison, three brothers; John Watt of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Robert Watt of Warren, Michigan and Glenn Watt and wife Joyce also of Warren, eight grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. James was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; William, Albert and Arthur Watt. Memorial services were held on Monday, February 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor Michael Schaedig officiating. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Watt may be considered to: Clare County Animal Shelter. NELLIE V. SNOWBERGER

   Nellie V. Snowberger of Harrison formally of Grass Lake, age 89 went to be with her Lord, February 6, 2006.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Cornell; beloved husband, Charles in 1975; and 3 sisters.
   Survivors include children, Betty Berman of Marquette, Phyllis (Jim) Walker of Grass Lake, Roger (Rita) Snowberger of Mississippi; grandchildren, Sheri (Rob) Jahn, Robert Taylor, James Walker, Brian Taylor, Julie (John) Denton, Terry Walker, Randy (Tina) Taylor, Mike Walker, Deb Snider, Vickie (Mike) McCraken, Tom Snowberger; 23 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister, Ruth ( George) Claar of Coldwater; several nieces and nephews.
   She was a member of the Harrison Sportsman's Club and the Grass Lake United Methodist Church.
   A funeral service was conducted 11A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Sherwood Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Rubingh officiating.

IRIS MARIE BUSHONG

   Iris M. Bushong 70 of Gladwin, formerly of West Bloomfield, Detroit, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at her home. Iris was born on January 6, 1936, in Detroit, Mi, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Latulippe) Voelker.
   Mrs. Bushong was united in marriage to Gordon Bushong on June 25, 1955 at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale, Michigan.
   Iris enjoyed cooking, gardening, puzzles, reading and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
   Iris is survived by her loving husband; Gordon, four sons; Michael (Wilda) of Harrison, Gordon Jr. (Keeley) of Bay City, Jeffrey (Robin) of Redford Township, Ronald (Jeri) of Harrison, and only daughter; Elise (Steven) Preston of Navarre, FL, one brother; Fredrick Jr. (Cindy) Voelker of Conroe, TX, and one sister; Sharon (Theodore) Janish of Richmond, twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Iris was preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Bernard Voelker.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison with Father Noel Rudy officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home (989) 539-7810. Interment will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Harrison.
