LEE CULVER DARLING
September 12, 1925 - December 3, 2009

   Mr. Lee Culver Darling, 84 of Harrison, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community of Houghton Lake, Michigan. Lee was born September 13, 1925 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Leroy C. and Maude (Davis) Darling. Mr. Darling served his country in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. Lee had resided in Harrison since 1966, coming from Lansing, Michigan. Lee was united in marriage to the former Brenda Sue Foster on October 2, 1989 in Harrison.
   Lee retired from the State of Michigan after many years of service. Mr. Darling was a life member of Harrison V.F.W. Post 1075, life member of D.A.V. and a life member of American Legion Post 404 of Harrison.
   Surviving is his wife, Brenda S. Darling of Harrison, one son, Scott Darling also of Harrison, three daughters: Toni Darling of Bell, Florida, Teri Darling also of Bell, Florida and Tracy Gillie and husband Roger of Harrison, one step-son, Gary Lee Smith and wife Debbie of Palatka, Florida, five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Mr. Darling was preceded in death by his parents.
   A Celebration of Life Memorial service was held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Lonnie Severance officiating. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post 404 of Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Darling may be considered to: Heartland Hospice of Roscommon County. DAVID H. HUSCHKE

   David H. Huschke of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away at the age of 68 years on Sunday November 22, 2009 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born in Williamston, Mi., having spent his young life growing up with his family and attended school in Harrison. He was the son of the late Charles and Agnes (Smith)Huschke.
  David is survived by his wife Faye (O’Quinn) Huschke of Brunswick, Georgia, a son David Wayne Huschke of West Palm Beach, Fl. , a daughter Sarah Louise Freas, husband Thomas of Cumming, Ga., a step daughter Kerrie Kiwak McPike, husband Neil of Reading, Pa., a sister Jackie (Huschke)Chaffee, husband Dale of Harrison - six grandchildren, David Tyler Huschke, Jillian Reba Huschke, Devon Freas, Kyle Freas, Cameron Freas and Kristofer McPike, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   David was preceded in death by his first wife Reba. Both parents, a brother Paul Huschke, two sisters, Irene Jackson and Charlene Sharp.
   David served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1964. Taking up his residence in Brunswick, Ga., he lived there with his family until his passing. He retired from the LCP plant in 1994. David was an avid sportsmen and outdoorsman, loved life. He was a member of the Emanuel United Methodist Church.
   Internment is in the Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick, Ga.

DONALD E. NAILOR
July 19, 1946 - December 9, 2009

   Donald E. Nailor, 63 of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Don was born July 19, 1946 in Cohoes, New York, the son of Ernest and Doris (Pouliott) Nailor. Mr. Nailor was united in marriage to the former Ravina L. Repass on December 26, 1992 in Plymouth, Michigan.
   Don had resided in Harrison since 1996, moving from Wayne, Michigan. Don retired from Ford Motor Company after thirty-two years of service. Mr. Nailor was a member of Harrison Eagles Aerie 3541, where he served as secretary and was a prior president of the club. Mr. Nailor currently served as chairman of Michigan Eagles District 12. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and golfer.
   Surviving is his loving wife of sixteen years, Ravina L. Nailor of Harrison, two daughters: Linda Brown and husband Darin of Elsie, Michigan and Lisa Green and husband Ross of Farmington Hills, Michigan, four sons: Michael Nailor and Tina Spanos of Livonia, Michigan, Joseph Nailor and wife Lisa of Southgate, Michigan, Chuck Schwind of Wixom, Michigan and Robert Schwind and fiancee Heather Malroy of San Antonio, Texas, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Nailor was preceded in death by his parents.
   Celebration of Life services for Mr. Nailor was held Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Officers and Members of Harrison Eagles Aerie 3541 officiating. Interment is in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Nailor may be considered to: Gladwin Veterinary Clinic, 4196 W. M-61, Gladwin, MI 48624. LIBBY MARIE DUMA
MAY 9, 1930 - DECEMBER 5, 2009

   Libby Marie Duma, 79 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Harrison passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at her daughter’s home. Libby was born May 9, 1930 in West Branch, Michigan, the daughter of Charlie Elsworth and Clara (Mathews) Twinning. Libby was united in marriage to Mr. Louis F. Duma Sr. on October 9, 1953 in West Branch. Mr. Duma preceded Libby in death on June 1, 2000.
   Libby had resided in Harrison since 1967, moving from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Libby had owned and operated Libby’s Family Hair Care of Harrison for many years. Mrs. Duma was a past member of Harrison V.F.W. Post 1075 Ladies Auxiliary.
  Surviving are four daughters: Janice Bonesse and husband Arthur of Phoenix, Arizona, Dana Sexton and husband Gary of Kingman, Arizona, Helen Williams and husband Matthew of Mt. Pleasant and LouAnn Seeney and Kellie Pavlawk of Gladwin, two sons: Daniel Duma and wife Rita of Harrison and Louis Duma and wife Susan also of Harrison, three sisters: Dorothy Dow and husband Ernest, Lillian Torsch and Donna Reminder and husband Leo, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Duma also was preceded in death by her parents.
   A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Duma will be held Friday, December 11, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. from Community of Christ Church, Harrison. Inurnment will take place in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison, immediately following services. NANCY A. GREEN

   Nancy A. Green, age 68 of Lake, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born the daughter of Lynn and Ruby (Brand) Snyder on June 14, 1941 in Hillsdale. She was united in marriage to Michael Green on August 5, 1972 in Lansing.
   Nancy had attended Jackson Business College. She had worked for the State of Michigan for 34 years as a receptionist for the Department of Transportation, and then as a Graphic Designer for the Michigan Travel Bureau. She had moved to Lake to live in the outdoors and enjoy the wildlife around her home. Nancy enjoyed spending time outdoors; golfing, camping, and snowmobiling. She liked to travel, spending her winters in Florida, fishing, boating, golfing, and relaxing at the beach. Then coming back home to Spring Lake for the summer in the north, where she golfed, camped, relaxed at Lake George, and did some traveling including a few trips to Alaska. She was a member of the Clare Eagles, the Harrison Moose Lodge, and the Lake George Boosters Club.
   Nancy is survived by her husband Michael; son Douglas (Jenny) of Battle Creek; grandchildren Kailin and Brendan; a brother Lee (Jean) Snyder of Hillsdale; cousins Fred and Beth Nichols, Bob and Gail Nichols, and Menno and Mary Jane Stukey, Sharon and Gary Carrier, and Jim Snyder; as well as her dog Lacy. Nancy was predeceased by her parents.
   Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 1 P.M. at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Rev. Kurt Eichinger officiating. Burial will be in the Freeman Twp. Cemetery in Lake. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the following charities; Lake George Booster Club Building Fund, Mid Michigan Hospice, Hope Lodge of Grand Rapids, CaringBridge.org, and the Gift of Life Michigan (supporting organ donors & recipients). MICHAEL SNYDER

   Michael Snyder, age 65 of Murfreesboro died Tuesday December 8, 2009. He was a native of Ohio and a resident of Murfreesboro for the past 30 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Ware Snyder. He was retired from Bridgestone and was a volunteer with Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
   A private family service will be held at a later date.
   He is survived by his wife, Sue Snyder; son, Jeff and his wife Michelle Snyder of Murfreesboro; daughter, Kristy and her husband Marty Gilbert of Murfreesboro; father Walter Snyder of Ohio; sister Marilyn Dickel of Ohio; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Meghan Snyder, Becca, Erin and Matt Gilbert.
