WAYNE LEROY DUTCHER
1929-2009
Wayne Leroy Dutcher,
79, of Harrison, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at
Eaton Community Hospice House of Charlotte, Michigan. Wayne was born
August 5, 1929 in Corunna, Michigan, the son of Eugene Wayne and Bernice
(Spiegel) Dutcher. Mr. Dutcher was united in marriage to the love of his
life, Nancy Jean on July 16, 1984 in Harrison. Mrs. Dutcher preceded
Wayne in death on September 12, 2007.
Wayne had resided in Harrison since 1961, coming from Mackinaw
City, Michigan. Mr. Dutcher owned and operated Dutcher's Plumbing and
Electrical of Harrison for many years. Wayne was an avid sportsman and
also enjoyed snowmobiling.
Surviving are his loving children: three daughters; Judy Jackson
and husband John of Carrollton, Texas, Pamela Dutcher of Lansing,
Michigan and Carol Arnold of Garland, Texas, two sons; Keith Dutcher of
Harrison and Ron Dutcher of Texas, one brother, Ray Dutcher and wife Dee
of Dimondale, Michigan, one sister, Barbara Pilot of St. Johns,
Michigan, eight grandchildren, Christina Marie Dutcher, Cody Allen
Dutcher, Christopher Dutcher, Charles James Dutcher, Carin Jackson,
Brian Jackson and his wife TamiLynn, Shelly Jackson Warner and her
husband Chris and Tina Jackson, eight great-grandchildren, plus numerous
nieces and nephews. Mr. Dutcher also was preceded in death by his
parents and three sisters.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in May of 2009
at the First Baptist Church of Harrison with Pastor Tim Tanner

CARL ALBERT NOLAND
Carl Noland (Lefty),
93, passed away on April 17, 2009 at 12:40 pm at his residence in
Valrico, Florida. He retired 30 years ago to Valrico after raising his
family in Harrison, Michigan.
His children he loved and who loved him were present: Mike
(Marcie), Patrick (Nancy, Kay (Gerry) Willey and Molly (Ken). Lefty and
his wife Dot (she preceded him in death on April 25, 1999) have 13
grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Lefty was born in Calumet, Michigan on March 25,1916 to Mary (Kubiak)
and Frank Nowakowski. He had 3 brothers (Frank, Jack and Cy) and 2
sisters (Agnes and Martha).
Lefty and Dot were married for 62 years and were "buddies" all their
lives. Their love, care and generosity for others were passed on to
their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His legacy was bringing out the "best" in those he met with his
smile, humor and the twinkle in his eyes. He had a silent motto: "don't
criticize, condemn or complain" and he lived up to that. He wanted
everyone around him to enjoy life. He was a servant to others.
He worked in the CC Camps during the depression, was a barber,
worked in a Steel Mill and owned an IGA store with his brother-in-law.
Lefty was in the grocery business in Michigan most of his life and both
he and Dot owned a small, very successful, party store (Lefty's
Superette) for 15 years in Harrison, Michigan.
His love of golf with Dot (and especially beating his children at
golf) was part of his life at Devil's Knob Golf Course in Harrison and
Buckhorn Golf Course in Florida. His golfing friends in both Harrison
and Valrico were a major joy in his and Dot's life. He and Dave Harper
were announcers at the Harrison High School football and basketball
games during the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Both Dot and Lefty were involved at St. Athanasius in Harrison,
Michigan throughout their lives and he was an usher, lector, Eucharistic
Minister and major decision maker in the church's growth for over 50
years. Both were very spiritual people.
A Catholic Funeral Liturgy is pending until this summer at St.
Athanasius.

EDWIN C. SCHLEHUBER
1927-2009
Edwin C. Schlehuber, 81, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, April 8,
2009 at his residence. Mr. Schlehuber was born May 22, 1927 in
Wakefield, Michigan, the son of John and Edna (Hopkins) Schlehuber.
Edwin served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Schlehuber was united in marriage to the former Gladys G. Partaka on
May 26, 1951 in Tyre, Michigan. Mrs. Schlehuber preceded Edwin in death
on April 6, 2004.
Surviving are his loving children: two sons; Rick Schlehuber and
wife Kim of Olivet, Michigan and Randy Schlehuber of Harrison, three
daughters; Joyce Erskine of Paw Paw, Michigan, Martha Rybak and husband
Mike of Harrison and Sandy Eakins and husband John of Springfield,
Michigan, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, plus numerous
nieces and nephews. Mr. Schlehuber also was preceded in death by his
parents and four brothers.
In following Mr. Schlehuber's wishes, cremation has taken place.

ROBERT JAMES EDWARDS
Robert James Edwards, 68, of
Harrison, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his home. Mr. Edwards
was born November 25, 1940 in Roseville, Michigan, the son of Mr.
Edwards and Mrs. Grace (Kriskella) Edwards.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his loving daughters: Gail Garnett and
husband Christopher of Hillman, Michigan and Kellie Edwards of
Prudenville, Michigan, one sister, Ruth Nemitz and husband Norman of
Maple City, Michigan, his previous wife and still friend and companion,
Pamela Lyn Edwards of Harrison, MI, plus several nieces and nephews. Mr.
Edwards was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services for Mr. Edwards will be held Saturday, April 18,
2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, Harrison, with Pastor Eric
Pittman officiating. Eulogy delivered by long time friend, Pastor Tom
Vaughn of Lighthouse Ministries, Harrison. Luncheon at church
immediately following service. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Moose
Family Center - Harrison, Michigan. Memorial contributions in memory of

JAMES P. FOX
James P. Fox, 67, of Houghton Lake,
passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Grayling Mercy Hospital with
his loving family at his side.
James was born August 19, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan to the late
William R. and Mary Dell (Smith) Fox. He grew up and attended school in
Houghton Lake. He was a over the road truck driver for many years before
retiring and returning to Houghton Lake in 1995.
Mr. Fox is survived by his two sons, Rodney Fox of California and
Daniel Fox of California; one daughter, Debbie Fox of Washington; Four
Grandchildren; five sisters, Kaye(Bruce) Tyrrell of Prudenville,
Vicki(Jim) Kelly of Houghton Lake, Connie Akridge of Fenton, Tina Fox of
Florida, and Tami(Craig Rugis) Fox of Florida; loving sister-in-law
Darla Fox of Harrison, several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in
death by his parents and his brother Carey.
Family services will be conducted for Mr. James P. Fox. interment will
be in Roscommon Twp. Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy
may wish to consider the American Cancer Society.
