Richard "Dick" L. DeWitt

Mr. Richard L. DeWitt,
79, of Harrison, formerly of Lansing, passed away April 9, 2006 at
Northwoods Nursing Center. He was born July 2, 1926 in Lansing,
Michigan, the son of Herbert and Eve (Ross) DeWitt. Dick retired from
Michigan State University after 15 years of service and prior to that
was employed by the Venetian Blind Company in Lansing. He was a member
of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Harrison and a life member of the
Harrison Moose Lodge. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country
during WWII. Dick was united in marriage to Marguerite Sandin on August
9, 1963.
Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 42 years; Marguerite,
son; William (Joanie) of Okemos, two daughters; Dawn (Gary) Prawdzik of
Lansing and Cindy (Dallas) Eaton of Hobe Sound, Fla., granddaughter;
Jessica DeWitt, sister; Lois Healy of Lansing and several nieces and
nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's
Association 4604 N. Saginaw Rd. Suite F, Midland, MI 48640, Mid Michigan
Hospice 3007 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640 or St. Luke Lutheran
Church, PO Box 623, Harrison, MI 48625. A memorial service will be held
on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 11:00a.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church,
Harrison with Pastor Michael Schaedig and Vicar Kirk Eichinger
officiating. Commital services will be Thursday, April 13, 2006 at
1:00p.m. with visitation from 12:00 - 1:00p.m. in Deepdale Memorial
Gardens, 4110 Old Lansing Rd, Lansing. Arrangements were entrusted with

BERT LEE CHALLENDER
Bert Lee Challender,
Born June 25, 1935, in Grand Ledge; died March 27, 2006, at the age of
70.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie; daughters, Bonnie Sant (Tom
Hakes) of Harrison, Rosalee (Robert) Shafley of Holt and Kathy (Dan)
Barnette of Lansing; son, Milford "Jay" (Kelly) Challender of Alma; 16
grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Funeral services have been held. Those desiring may make
contributions to Hope Baptist Church, Harrison, MI 48625, in memory of
Mr. Challender. The family is being served by the Gorsline-Runciman
Funeral Home, Lansing.

GERALD E. SHOOK
March 29, 1943-March 31, 2006
Gerald E. Shook, 63, of Harrison died Friday, March 31, 2006 at
Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at
Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Pastor John Boley officiating. The
family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.

Gerald was born on March 29, 1943 in Pontiac, the son of Sheldon
and Helen (Kabaci) Shook. He married Dora Costelo May 28, 1961.
He worked for General Motors for 33 years before retiring in 1992.
Gerald loved hunting, fishing, trapping and mechanical work. He
especially loved playing golf.
Gerald is survived by his two sons, Gerald (Shawna) Shook of
Harrison and William (Christy) Shook of Pine Knot, KY; four
grandchildren, Samantha and Travis Shook of Harrison and Christopher and
Anna Shook of Pine Knot, KY; and two sisters, Margaret Shook of San
Jacinto, CA and Pamela Stevens of Hasperia, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

George Larson, age
82 of Harrison, passed away at the Clare Hospital on Sunday, March 26,
2006. George was born on October 16, 1923.
He loved fishing, music, and spending time with his friends. He is
survived by his friends and family at the Weatherhead AFC home. Funeral
Services took place on Friday, March 31, at 1: 00 P.M. at the funeral
home.
Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrison. Arrangements
handled by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare.
